MY TRAINING METHODS I work as a Dog Whisperer and have achieved great results in training clients dogs without saying a word! OK. That’s good for me, but I have to pass that knowledge on to you. Once you see me at work it all seems to make sense. Lets face it, dogs don’t use the human language between each other so why should they begin to understand it from us? They work mainly with body language and by learning to emulate that method yourself you will see immediate results. Of course, we sometimes have to speak to our dogs when giving a command, rather like them using sound to communicate with each other in the form of growling, snarling or barking. I don’t always use the silent method to solve a problem: sometimes we need to use Negative or Positive Reinforcement with our dogs or perhaps familiarise them with situations they are afraid of. Each problem needs to be assessed, taking note of the dogs diet, the amount of exercise it gets and how it is treated by each member of the family.
BEHAVIOUR TRAINING I work my own dogs and boarding dogs only with body language, not the human language. This is the way I work with them both in and out of the house. I find it results in a very relaxed, happy atmosphere. When I am exercising the dogs over the Sussex Downs I continue to work them in my silent body language and find that even though most of these dogs have not been worked in this way before they seem to respond to it immediately. I deal with all forms of behaviour problems including aggression, barking, chewing, separation anxiety, biting, jumping up and chasing. I also do one to one training for general obedience including pulling on the lead, recall, sit and stay.
Almost all problems are solved in one consultation and training session. This takes up to two hours and will normally take place in your home and surrounding areas where we may need to confront the situations your dog is having difficulties with. Although sometimes it may be more beneficial for you to come to me if we need to let your dog run free in the countryside or perhaps mix with other dogs to correct the problem. After the consultation I am quite happy for you to phone me at any time if you need any further help.
