Lottie our Jack Russell has stayed with Dawn on at least three occasions, the last being for two weeks. She goes wild when approaching Dawns house and cannot wait to get with the other dogs and play in the garden. When we pick her up we know that she has enjoyed herself and is clean, fit and well fed. Finding Dawn has been a godsend. I have a 12 year old Bassett Hound. My husband and I work shifts and Dawn is always flexible and willing to help out even at short notice. Molly loves going to stay with Dawn and enjoys the company of the other dogs and the lovely walks on the Downs. We cannot recommend Dawn enough. Mrs. Lee Lovewell
My dog Chips had been refused by kennels for different reasons. We were stuck as to who to go to. Along came Dawn. She came and spent the morning training us and the dog. She gave us amazing advice and helped us to help him. He is a complete nutter, very nervous and very difficult dog. The only person who could deal with him and help us was Dawn. Chips loves staying with Dawn. Dawn brings the best out of dogs and they know she is the pack leader and respond to her. Claudine Delores Smith
My dog Tilly stayed a week with Dawn for the first time this Summer. She was only five months old and I was a little nervous about leaving her. However, Dawn was great. Her experience was quite apparent and the location at the edge of the Downs was fantastic. The dogs are taken on two good walks a day, have access to the house and have a great garden to explore. We returned to find a very happy dog who has spent the week stretched out on the sofa in the conservatory! Gillian Knight
I have taken my Golden Retriever Soni to stay with Dawn on many occasions. Soni always has a great time and loves spending time out in the garden, chasing the pheasants and squirrels! Most of all he loves the long walks. Sometimes they go over the Sussex Downs, sometimes on Telscombe Tye and at other times to the beach. When Soni comes home he goes straight to sleep! Dawn has always been passionate about dogs and she borrows Soni to hold the money box when she is collecting for Sussex Pet Rescue. I cannot recommend Dawn highly enough! David Francis
I boarded my two Labrador Retrievers with Dawn Smedley for a week last summer. There is a huge countryside garden which the dogs have constant access to. Dawn has been looking after dogs for over thirty years and she has a lot of experience as a canine behaviourist so I knew my dogs would be getting the best care while they were there, with a bit of training thrown in too! The dogs stay in the house with Dawns dogs and love to relax in front of the fire after a long walk. I knew my dogs would enjoy their summer holiday as much as I would enjoy mine! Mike Cheesman
Our 9 year old Collie had a stroke 2 years ago and was left with behavioural problems and irrational fear. We
sought advice from numeral sources: some good and some terrible. Dawn has been an inspiration and a godsend. After Caffrey bit his groomer we were left in a position where we could not leave him anywhere.
I then found Dawns website. Dawn is a dog's (and dog owner's) dream - a true inspiration. When she met Caffrey she saw that he had neurological issues. Caffrey boarded with Dawn. Not only did she look after him impeccably, she evaluated him and her advice and care has been invaluable. She totally worked him out and we now have a proper management plan. Dawn loved and cared for him where most would not even be willing to try. She adapted his stay to accommodate his problems and when we picked him up he was clearly happy and had been lovingly looked after. Caffrey has special needs and they were all cared for with love, patience and a very special expertise. We are so grateful to Dawn for her help and I think it would be difficult to find anyone else in the UK to match her obvious gift. I would highly recommend her dog boarding facilities (lap of luxury!) and also her canine behaviourist skill. Linda Porter
I first met Dawn when I called her to sort out Barney's behavioural problems. When I saw the boarding facilities I was very impressed. I now leave Barney there when I go on holiday. The dogs all live together and share the house. The garden is very big and I like the fact that Barney can go in and out of the dog flap when ever he wants to. He has so much fun and is always happy to be there. Kathy Park
Our Border Collie Tess cannot stay with anyone apart from Dawn. Tess likes to round up dogs in typical Collie
style and if she is stopped from doing anything that is innate to her breed she will bite. Dawn works with dogs in a natural way and fully understands the way Tess works. When ever I walk past Dawn's house Tess runs in to see Dawn and would happily stay with her all the time! Barbara Thompson
